Sherry has been creating art since childhood. Her love of wildlife is the focus of her art. Her main goal is to express the beauty of wildlife in the most exacting images from the nature which surrounds her.

In the spring of 2002, Sherry was one of the top 100 exhibitors at the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in Charleston, SC for the second time. Last fall, Sherry was named Artist of the Year by the Arkansas Wildlife Fed. after winning 1st Place in their Annual Competition with her painting Summer
Fawns. This was the 8th time she received this honor. In the same year, she won Best of Show and a Judges Merit Award. at the National Wildlife Art Show which is sponsored by Ducks Unlimited. which she received annually from 1988.


In '97, Sherry received an Award of Excellence at St. Louis Art Happening and was Featured Artist at the Operation Wildlife Fine Art Show in Overland Park, Kansas. Other awards include Best of Show in the Oklahoma Wildlife Art Festival-'90; Red River Revel-'89; Wildlife Art Walk, St. Louis MO; Cheyenne (WY) Audubon Show; Governors Exhibit & Distinguished Artists Exhibit in Little Rock; One-woman Shows at Ft. Smith Art Center-'85, '89 & '92.

Major commissions include works for the Wolf Sanctuary, Eureka, MO founded by Marlin Perkins; Little Rock Zoo; National Audubon Society; Ark. Audubon Society & Ducks Unlimited. Funds raised from these works have been used for education & conservation helping to preserve wildlife and the habitat on which they depend. Sherry illustrated Trees, Shrubs & Vines of
Arkansas by Carl G. Hunter and A Shadow in the Forest by J.B. George.

Born in North Platte, NE, Sherry grew up north of Kansas City, MO in the rural community of Excelsior Springs. She worked as a litho artist for Hallmark Cards through 1964. Sherry studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and privately. She originally worked in pencil to create intricate realistic drawings She now works in watercolor to portray wildlife native to North America. Working with wildlife has deepened her love of and concern for the environment and has helped create the distinctive style for which she is well-known. Sherry now resides near Harrison, Arkansas with her husband, Ted in the scenic Ozark Mountains.
